The club held its second summer basketball camp which was again attended by over 50 eager and excited basketball players. It was held during the week 4th August to 8th August at Canford School in Dorset where the facilities are second to none. The week went by without too many problems and the players performed really well in exceptionally hot conditions. On the Wednesday of the camp a temperature of over 35 degrees was recorded in the sports hall!
We must however be cursed, for the second consecutive year one of our coaches did not show… not to worry though, we had someone to step into the breach and coach.
In the NBA age group the winning team were the Knicks (nits), Kansas State won the equivalent competition in the NCAA. The NCAA All Stars for the second year beat the NBA All Rookie Team during an action packed Friday. The NBA All Stars also had a tough time as they got beaten by the coach’s team.
Well done to all those that took part. For pictures of the 2003 camp, see the photo gallery link. The winners of the awards are listed below...congratulations to everybody, it was a hard week, well done
