We had to replace a coach, survive both desert and Antarctic like conditions ... but we came through! Dorset Storm held their first basketball camp in 2002, the venue the fantastic Canford School in Dorset, the dates 5th to the 9th of August. We had 51 children attend our first camp, keen and enthusiastic to improve their basketball skills.
The high quality coaching line-up had to be altered as Gavin Love was unable to attend (Gavin...don't worry we won't hold it against you...just try to be a little more careful next time!) and he was replaced by Englishman Alistar Gall who is playing Collage basketball at Franklin Pierce University in America. Somewhere along the line something must have been wrong, because all the coaches enjoyed themselves so much; in fact they have all said that they want to come back next year. So in the words of Mick Byrne, who paid tribute to the camp..."That was definitely, definitely the most organized camp I have been on recently!"
